Asalamu alaykum my dear brothers and sisters; This month i’ll be covering the topic loving for the sake of Allah followed by duas and inspirational gems in sha Allah. Abu Hurairah (may Allah be pleased with him) relates that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, Allah will ask on the Day of Judgment: “Where are those who loved each other for the sake of My glory? Today, on a day when there is no shade but Mine, I shall shade them with My shade.” [Muslim] What does loving for the sake of Allah mean? How do we portray this feeling to others? This article will in sha Allah explain. May Allah bless you all. What is loving for the sake of Allah mean? Love is amongst the emotions in which Allah blessed human to feel. Loving for the sake of Allah is amongst the acts of worship that transcends the limits of our existence in this duniya, and endures into the Hereafter. Allah subhanahu wa taala says in the Quran in Surah Al-Zukhruf: ‘Close friends on that Day will be foes to one another—except for the righteous.’ [43:67] What does this love involve? Are there duties? In order for this sublime love to remain in the relationship with purity. There are duties in which one must act upon which brings both individuals closer to Allah subhanahu wa taala increasing their nobility. First duty: Support each other by enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and help each other to strive for Jannah. Patience is key. ‘The believing men and women are protecting friends of one another. They enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong.’ (Surah Al-Tawbah 9:71) ‘Surely, the human being is at loss. Except for those who have faith and do righteous deeds and exhort one another to truth and exhort one another to patience.’ (Surah Al-`Asr 103:2-3) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “One should help his brother, whether he is an oppressor or the one being oppressed. If he is an oppressor, forbid him from his oppression. If he is being oppressed, then come to his aid” (Muslim). Second duty: Expect good for one another. Be truthful. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “None of you will attain (perfect) faith until he loves for his brother what he loves for himself” [Al-Bukhari and Muslim] Third duty: Strengthen the relationship by helping each other fulfill each other’s duties via advise, greeting, remind them with duas, visit them when they are sick. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “A Muslim has six rights over another Muslim.” They asked, “What are they, Messenger of Allah?” He said, “When you meet him, greet him with Salam (Muslim's salutation meaning ‘peace’); when he invites you, accept his invitation; when he seeks your advice, advise him; when he sneezes and then praises Allah, invoke Allah’s mercy upon him; when he falls ill, visit him; when he dies, follow his funeral” (Muslim). Fourth duty: Greet them with a smile The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “Do not view any good act as insignificant, even the act of meeting your brother with a cheerful face” (Muslim). Fifth duty: Keep them in your duas (supplications) The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “A Muslim’s supplication for his brother in secret is answered. At his head an angel is appointed, and whenever he supplicates for his brother with something good, the angel appointed to him says, ‘Ameen, and likewise for you’” (Muslim). Sixth duty: Give each other excuses and defend each other’s honour and keep secrets and never abuse nor use. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said, “It is not permissible for one Muslim to distress another” [Abu Dawud]. So my dear respected brothers and sisters; one can say i love you for the sake of Allah easily but it also has duties that one needs to act upon. Can there be a container without a cover? Common question, what do I say when some says I love you for the sake of Allah? In summary..... Inspirational Gems...
