Praise be to Allah, we seek His Help and His forgiveness. We seek refuge with Allah from the evil of our own souls and from our bad deeds. Whomsoever Allah guides will never led astray, and whomsoever Allah leaves astray, no one can guide. I bear witness that there is no God but Allah, the One, having no partners. And I bear witness that Muhammed is His slave and Messenger. Unit is crucial and fundamental in society regardless of race, faith and ethnicity to promote peace, love and harmony. Islam promotes peace but how? Let's look at a simple example, when we pray, you do not have one row for Caucasian, one row for Asian, one row for Afro-Caribbean, one row for Japanese or Arab etc, nor there is a masjid that says Arabs only. Rather when we pray, regardless of your race or culture, you stand together feet to feet, shoulder to shoulder and you greet your brother by saying Salaam/Peace. Another example of unity is when you go on pilgrimage/Hajj or Umrah. You don't see any divisions based upon race and social class, the only thing you will see is white clothing united for one cause and that is to seek forgiveness. Another example of unity is when the mother and father together raises their children and divide their responsibilities between them. It is important to state that in Islam, it puts an emphasis of importance in education and work regardless of gender. A woman is allowed to work. Allowed to have an education as she long as she looks after/cares for her husband and children. Many people today blame the media, blame certain countries, blame other people, why don't you blame yourself? What are you doing about it in a positive light? How is your character like? How do you deal with people? Close your eyes and look into your heart. The lack of unity amongst muslims is one of the biggest issues that needs to be resolved by the muslim society itself. If the Ummah is considered to be a body, then unity is health. Different diseases (reasons) attacks the body (Ummah) and influences its health (unity). There are a number of diseases that are spreading at a rapid pace and if not treated at an appropriate time, it may prove to be fatal for the body (Ummah). From a clinical perspective, to cure the body from the disease is to diagnose the disease and the aetiological causes that leads to it. 1) RACISM - yes for real. If you can't see it, then wake up. Discriminating based on tribes, languages and countries. Islam promotes unity and does not give precedence to any Muslim over another based upon tribe, colour, caste and creed. Our Beloved Prophet peace and blessings be upon him said in his speech: 'All Muslims are equal, an Arab has no superiority over a non-arab, nor does a white over a black'. Today, the Ummah is full of it. In the recent deaths of #ourthreeboys that are dark-skinned who were viciously shot and taken from their families, there was reduced attention of their killings from the media and the ummah itself. Alternatively, there was so much attention for #ourthreewinners that were Arabs and were equally viciously shot and were taken from their families. May Allah grant them all Jannah. I created a justgiving page few weeks a go as sadaqa jariya for #ourthreeboys with Allah's help, raised awareness on social media just like how I did for #ourthreewinners yet not a single penny has been donated to build a well in Niger? Where is the Unity?. Please do donate, every penny counts. Registered charity - Islamic Relief https://www.justgiving.com/peacelovehumanity Moreover, today, how can someone who is an Arab thinks he is better than a non-arab based upon knowing the Arabic language of the Glorious Quran. If you know Arabic, DO NOT BOAST, utilize it to support your brothers and sisters by importing them with knowledge as well as helping our poor Muslims and sisters. Ultimately, the cure for this disease is to strictly adhere to the foundations of Islam (Quran and Sunnah) and abandon such ideologies. 2) SECTSI find it hard to keep up with the number of sects that appear and our Beloved Prophet peace and blessings have warned us.
'The jews are split to 71 or 72, and the Christians similarly and the Ummah is split into 73'. In Surah Anfal, Allah the Most High says: 'Obey Allah and His Messenger, if you are Indeed a believer'. So stop labelling yourself and identify yourselves as a Muslim! In Surah An-am verse 159, Allah says 'Verily those who divide their religion and break up into sets, you have no concern in them in the least. Their affair is only with Allah, who will then tell them what they used to do'. 3) RESPECT If your colleague or neighbour is not Muslim, it does not mean you can be cruel, you treat them with respect. They are human. If they need help, you help them, because our religion is all about peace and care. Do no abandon them. Moreover, recently I had this scenario where I asked someone to help this person in need. The person said that they didn't have a chance to contact. I respected the person's time and though in sha Allah no problem. However, when I came on the Facebook newsfeed, the comments on mutual and non-mutual and updates. I was like hold on a second...the person has got time to do all that, but no time to ring this person in need. I didn't want to fall into an argument, so I was like delete and block and made dua for the person and myself and everyone else for guidance. I am not going to tell you it did not hurt me. It really did but what can you do apart from make dua for them? 4) Many ask, what should we do and whom we depend on scholars for understanding religion? Answer is in the Quran! In Surah Nisaa (The Women) verse 59. 'O you who believe! Obey Allah and His Messenger and those of you who are in authority. If you differe in anything amongst yourselves, refer it to Allah and His Messenger, if you believe in Allah and the Last Day. That is better and more suitable for final determination'. Therefore, there is no harm as long as he (Scholar) is adhering to the Quran and Sunnah. Dear Brothers and Sisters, Islam calls for unity and Allah says in Surah Hujarat verse 10. 'All believers are but brethren. Hence, [whenever they are at odds,] make peace between your two brethren, and remain conscious of God, so that you might be graced with His mercy.' Jazakumullah khair. Anything good is from Allah. Anything bad is from myself and shaytan.
