When leaving one Ramadan to another, we set goals on how to self-improve and develop ourselves further before the subsequent Ramadan in terms of our acts of worship to Allah (The Most High), our duties and responsibilities to ourselves, our families, our friends, our communities and anyone we interact with.
Transitioning them from goals into practice, have you really improved? What can or could you have differently if not achieved?
Our character and etiquette are based on what is taught and what is acted upon and even our experiences.
Our parents have taught each and everyone one of us to the best of their abilities - Alhamdulilah but it is us, mankind, that has the tendency to fall into the traps of Shaytan whose fault is none other than ourselves.
We are all generally unique one way or another but are unified under the umbrella of humanity and religion Islam.
Performing the 5 pillars of Islam and believing in the 6 pillars of faith is a portion of what Islam is about. It is the character that is looked upon.
Abu Huraira (may Allah have mercy upon him) reported: The Messenger of Allah, (peace and blessings be upon him) , said:
إِنَّ اللَّهَ لَا يَنْظُرُ إِلَى صُوَرِكُمْ وَأَمْوَالِكُمْ وَلَكِنْ يَنْظُرُ إِلَى قُلُوبِكُمْ وَأَعْمَالِكُمْ
"Verily, Allah does not look at your appearance or wealth, but rather He looks at your hearts and actions."
[Hadith, Muslim 2564]
Join us, identifying key character traits we should all learn to strive, learn and maintain using the 26 lettered English Alphabet.
We all know what the alphabets are but how significant and deeply does each letter mean to you?
When you think of each letter, what characteristic trait rises, do you have it or do we need to germinate it or was the seed sown but not nurtured nor maintained?
Self-reflection is what comprehends reality and aids in our approach to our purpose and nature.
