Welcome
LESSON TWO: Do not carry the worries of life but the tools to make a positive change in it.
The plasma is a fluid that contains many cells and proteins that have a significant role and; today aims to focus on the red blood cells. The red blood cells are also known as the erythrocytes and contain a red pigment called haemoglobin.
Haemoglobin is a multimeric protein (many parts) that transports oxygen in the blood. It has four long chains of polypeptides (protein): two identical alpha (α) chains and two beta (β) chains. There are haem groups that act as a cofactor and contain iron. Each haem group are attached to each globin chain and is joined with oxygen to form oxyhaemoglobin. To a lesser extent, carbon dioxide is combined reversibly.
Putting this into perspective: the oxygen molecules serves your purpose. Your mission. Your goal. It binds with the haem that holds it into position. The haem groups are those who support you to lift your higher and stronger. However, one has to be wary that support can be in the form of two categories: temporary and consistently.
The carbon dioxide represents the negative experience that serves as a reminder where it also contains a seed of learning that have some benefit. Having high levels of carbon dioxide can become toxic and need to be removed. Each of us needs to find the strength and determination within ourselves to follow our destined paths and should not be influenced by any form of distraction. You need to pick yourself up just like how red blood cells pick up the oxygen and; do not fear your experience nor who you see in your path (blood vessel) and push yourself forward.
The shape of the erythrocytes is biconcave like a doughnut shape and has a diameter of 7 µm (micrometres). It has a large surface area to volume ratio because it has no nucleus to allow oxygen and carbon dioxide to diffuse. Each person has a different blood type and; it is related to the proteins and polysaccharides present in the plasma membrane. The red blood cells are made in the spongy area (soft) in the bone marrow inside the bone. Haemoglobin, iron, folic acid and vitamin B12 are essential for the human body.
Similarly, we should carry what is essential for us:
Carry what benefits us and ignore what does not.
Carry what helps you to help others.
Carry the tools that will become a better you but there are things that we do not need to carry…
Ibn Al Jawziyah (may Allah have mercy upon him) said:
“Do not carry the worries of this life because this is for Allah (God).
Do not carry worries of sustenance because it is from Allah.
Do not carry the anxiety for the future because it is in the Hands of Allah.
Carry one thing. How to please Allah, because if you please Him. He pleases you to fulfil you and; enriches you.”
How often do we worry despite faith?
Thus, we should not carry other people’s words to approve of you or your actions because before seeking feedback, you would need to carry your self-approval that forms the basis of confidence and progress.
