POEM OF THE MONTH: JANUARY 2014: Living in The West Living in the West, Is a Quest,
We were put on Earth for a reason,
We don’t know if we’ll make it next season.
It is important for one to keep his/her’s identity.
Adhering to Allah’s commands causes serenity.
Praying 5 times a day,
Dhikr on the tongue one would say,
Seeking friends that are righteous and good.
Doing good deeds as much as one could.
It is also important to be dutiful and help others.
For everyone including your muslim sisters and brothers,
Parents, siblings, children and the wife,
To live a peaceful, loving life.
Looking out for your neighbours,
Cleaning the environment from rubbish and papers.
One should ask themselves the purpose of this life?
Cars, parties, expensive holidays and a beautiful wife?
There is no point in us denying.
That when each day passes, we are closer to dying.
Everything around us was created from Allah,
We should thank Him every time we perform Salah.
This life is a test,
We should follow His commands and try our best.
No one said it would be easy.
Nor sunny nor breezy.
But we should not give up
Its like a half-filled cup.
You look at it thinking i can’t drink anymore.
But one should save it and try drinking again tomorrow.
Allah hasn’t abandoned us
So don’t make ‘i can’t do it’ fuss.
So remember Me; I will remember you. And be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.
POEM OF THE MONTH: FEBRUARY 2014: I Bow Down
I bow down. Yes I bow down to Allah alone. He resides in the sky on His Throne. He listens to my heart as it cries. I repeatedly say: Ya Jabbar! Ya Allah! As my Imaan increases, the tests increase. He reassures me through His verses: "...Bear with patience whatever befalls you...." (Qur'an 31:17) and "Be not sad, surely Allah is with us." (Qur'an 9:40) "Or think you that you will enter Paradise without such (trials) as came to those who passed away before you? They were afflicted with severe poverty, ailments and were shaken." (Qur'an 2:214) My heart is then at peace.
POEM OF THE MONTH: MARCH 2014: Everything will be okay Everything will be okay one day. just remain calm. stay soft like a lip balm. Do things for My sake. then you'll imaan (faith) won't break. you've tested one after the other, some people have left, but I'm still here. Remember me, I remember you and I always hear Follow the Quran and Sunnah They are your guide through this life. Don't let go for it will hurt more than a knife. there's only a few stepping stones to go. Just go with the flow. you try your best, hand over Me the rest you will be free of any stress. Don't put a question mark where I put a full stop. Have complete faith in Me to the top. I won't leave your side.
POEM OF THE MONTH: APRIL 2014: FARAH A definition of a close friend and sister. She never ever hurt me nor a blister. Years of friendships. Good times and being there at hardships. We’re not always together, Life sometimes keeps us apart. But we're never separated We’re in each other's heart. Words won't express how much you mean to me Even if I told you whilst having biscuits and a cup of tea. Now your going through this test. Alhamdulilah you are blessed. For Allah tests those He loves. In His remembrance, our hearts find peace more than in doves. I wish I was there for you by your side. I love you very much for His Sake large and wide. Your miles away from me; but your in my heart and in constant dua. You will go through this successfully by the permission of Allah. You will fight back my dear; you will fight in sha Allah. Allah won't leave you alone. He sees you from His throne. Like how He saved Yunus from the stomach of the whale. Moses from the Pharoahs by splitting the Red sea and provided a walking trail. Like how He saved Muhammad (pbuh) and Abu Bakr (RA) in the cave. In sha Allah; one day you will give this condition a bye bye wave. I wanted to do something even more practical. So I sat down and thought more tactical. and now I'm going to announce the surprise.
POEM OF THE MONTH: 30TH APRIL/1ST MAY 2014: SISTERS
A sister does not only refer to blood
Where love flows like a flood.
A sister is like a God-given gift through Islam
Where the importance of care and love to one another is deeper than the Aswan Dam.
United under the banner of la ilaha ina Allah Muhammad Al-Rasool Allah
Regardless of ethnicity, shape and size or however you are.
We also have sisters in humanity as we are the Children of Adam and Eve
Words cannot describe but I love you all for Allah’s sake.
You all sweeten my life more than a strawberry cake.
POEM OF THE MONTH: 1st JUNE 2014: Keep moving.
Keep moving; through the sun, snow, thunder, rain This life is quick and temporary than the speed of a train. Keep moving even though it aches. Keep moving even if it keeps you awake. Keep moving; through the sun, snow, thunder, rain This life is quick and temporary than the speed of a train.
The ink has dried; lost for words. But stay strong like the wings of the bird. It flaps its wings to get to its destination; It knows its purpose and tries to undergo concentration. No matter what. Keep moving.
POEM OF THE MONTH: 1st JULY 2014: Welcome Ramadan Ramadan; here you are. My dear friend how I longed for you to come. You bring light into my life like the shining sun. Ramadan; here you are. The month in which the Glorious Quran was revealed. The shayateen are locked away and sealed. Its time to make good deed(s). Our souls and hearts is in need. Welcome Ramadan.
POEM OF THE MONTH: 1st AUGUST 2014: The tears of the Ummah Poverty. Homelessness. War. Orphans. Unemployment, Streets flooded with blood. Where are you oh the leaders of this Ummah! I search left, and right expecting them to come and help. But I thought wrong; each looking for their ownself. A strong breeze rushes through my hijab. Can somebody hear me? A voice responded reciting this Quranic verse: “Or do you think that you will enter Paradise while such [trial] has not yet come to you as came to those who passed on before you? They were touched by poverty and hardship and were shaken until [even their] messenger and those who believed with him said, ‘When is the help of Allah?’ Unquestionably, the help of Allah is near.” [2:214]
POEM OF THE MONTH: SEPTEMBER 2014: Loving for the Sake of Allah Loving for the sake of Allah. Love is a single phrase but its meaning is vast. When love revolves the Almighty Allah, many problems can be weathered fast. It forms a basis of our relations within the community, family and friends. Great fruits can be harvested and brotherhood in faith never ends. It is not by words, rather by good actions, aid and care. Whether good or bad times, one would share.
POEM OF THE MONTH: NOVEMBER 2014: Farah you are still with me Farah you are still with me. You have returned to Allah. But you are still with me at heart. Allah loves you more than any mankind. He wanted you back. This Duniya may be large. But life in it is short. We were created to worship Allah and do good deeds. It won't be the last time I'll see you. In sha Allah we will be reunited in sha Allah soon. I remembered the last time I saw you as if it was yesterday. I whispered into your ears; I love you. Allah introduces us to people, some are blood, some are water and.. some like me and you, we may not be blood-related but we were in fact sisters. As i'm typing this poem, a sharp pain hits my heart and tears fall roll down my face. Because I wish I could hug you once more. But I can't but in sha Allah our duas will reach you and Allah tests those He loves. I named my cat after your first letter. Her names Fufu. She wants to meet you too :)
POEM OF THE MONTH: DECEMBER 2014: Reflecting 2014 The year of 2014 is nearly over. One would reflect back and think. What they achieved. The lessons taught. New people that entered your life and had an impact. People that left your life and had an impact. Loved ones that may not be present but are still with you at heart. Some friends have got married or due to get married. Some friends turned mothers. Trials after trials. Life is so short. So temporary. Yet full of lessons and blessings But one thing that was consistent was the faith in Allah subhanahu wa taala and belief in him that He will be by my side always <3
